About Ben Webster
In 1943 Ben Webster left Ellington (but he returned for a short time in 1948-1949). From that time he worked on 52nd Street; frequently recorded as a leader and as a musician. There were periods, when Webster worked with Raymond Scott, John Kirby and Sid Catlett. In the 1950-s Ben Webster toured with Jazz at the Philharmonic during several seasons.
